Alexis received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law where she triple specialized in Critical Race Studies, International & Comparative Law and Public Interest Law & Policy. Alexis also has dual masterís degrees in Rhetoric for Social Change and Africana Studies. She has experience working for both the San Diego County Public Defender and the Federal Defenders of San Diego Inc. She also worked for a civil litigation firm in downtown Los Angeles for 3 years handling personal injury and probate matters. Still She Rises: A Project of the Bronx Defenders originally brought Alexis to Tulsa to work with women involved in the criminal justice system as well as in family defense, representing women facing termination of their parental rights due to DHS involvement. Since then, she has launched her own successful practice, and has been appointed under court contracts to defend the indigent accused in both family deprived and criminal court. Alexis is an Oklahoma Bar Association 2017- 2018 Leadership Academy Candidate.
