Description: Anchorage, Alaska family law lawyer represented the Plaintiff seeking a divorce.

"A divorcing couple litigated numerous disagreements regarding both legal and physical custody of their three children and the division of their property. Citing limitations in the father's abilities to make decisions about and to care for the children, the superior court granted the mother "primary" legal custody, giving her final decision-making authority in the event of future disagreements. It also required the father to retain a full-time nanny during his custodial time, due to concerns for the children's safety. The father appeals, arguing that the court should have granted the parents joint legal custody, and contending that it was an abuse of discretion for the court to order that he retain a foil-time nanny during the nighttime portions of his time with the children. The father also contests the superior court's valuation of household items contained in one of the marital properties."
