Ascension Pascual-Rodriguez, 42, a citizen of Mexico found in Whitehall, Wisconsin, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge James Peterson to 12 months and one day in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States. Pascual-Rodriguez, who had been deported from the United States on two previous occasions, pleaded guilty to this charge on March 29, 2018.

Pascual-Rodriguez was convicted of stalking, domestic abuse, and criminal damage to property in Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, on February 6, 2018. He had been previously convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Missouri in 1997.

The charge against Pascual-Rodriguez was the result of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 12 months' and one day.
