Aaron Lucas, aka B-Wise, 39, of Buffalo, NY, who was convicted of being a felon-in- possession of a firearm, was sentenced to serve 48 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan A. Tokash, who handled the case, stated that on October 25, 2015, a New York State search warrant was executed at the defendantís Busti Avenue residence in Buffalo. Officers recovered a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle.

Lucas was convicted in 2003 of a felony charge in state court and as a result was prohibited from legally possessing a firearm.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of the Buffalo Police Department, under the direction of Commissioner Byron Lockwood; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Ashan Benedict, New York Field Division.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 48 months in prison.
