Description: Hackensack, NJ - Jury Finds Defendant Not Guilty

The Commonwealth of New Jersey charged David Achstetter, age 38, with aggravated assault, hindering the apprehension of a suspect, unlawful restrain, simple assult, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Achstetter was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Roberto Tabares, Jr., which was stopped by Officer Michael Storeman on March 23, 2017.

Jenny Kim was in the back seat of the vehicle injecting heroin into her arm and urged Tabares to get away and he took off.

The State claimed that Storeman was dragged 100 feet.

Tabares, 40, of Rockvill, Maryland pled guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 30 months' in prison.

Outcome: Not Guilty
