Description: Brentwood, NH - Jury Awards Plaintiffs $9 Million For Injuries

Chuck and Karen Weihold and Lisa Beaudry sued the State of New Hampshire, R.S. Audley, Inc. and Remi Gross-Santos, age 17, on negligence theories claiming that they were injured and damaged as a direct result of the combined negligence of the defendants.

Remi Gross-Santos fell asleep while driving on Ocean Boulevard in Hampton, New Hsmphire on June 14, 2014 and ran over the Plaintiffs. They claimed that he was negligent and they also claimed that the State of New Hamphire and its contractor R.S. Audley, Inc. were also partly to blame for the accident in that they needlessly increased the danger to pedestrians by in the area where they were walking at the time of the accident.

Karen Weinhold suffered serious life threatening injuries. Her injuries make it hard for her to speak, eat and swallow due to damage to her esophagus.

The defenses asserted by the Defendants are not available.

Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $9 million for medical bills, pain and suffering and lost of enjoyment of Life. The jury found that the State was 40% at fault, Audley was 30% at fault and Gross-Santos was 30 percent at fault.
