Bill Simes William D. "Bill" Sims joined our firm in 2012. He brings a wealth of experience in criminal and civil cases. Bill’s practice focuses on helping people who have been injured in all types of accidents be compensated for what they've lost and assisting individuals who are under investigation or facing criminal charges in successfully navigating the criminal justice system.

Bill is an honors graduate of Evangel University and the Drake University Law School. After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Judge Advocate, prosecuting and defending military crimes. He continues to serve our state and country as an officer in the South Dakota Air National Guard. Bill is licensed to practice in both South Dakota and Iowa.

Service is a key component of Bill’s practice. In addition to his military service, Bill has been a member of the South Dakota Bar’s CLE Committee since 2008 and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Military Law at the University of South Dakota School of Law. Bill is also a member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, Second Circuit Bar Association, Iowa Bar Association, American Association for Justice and church and community boards.

Bill’s philosophy on representing clients is simple and comes from his history as a Boy Scout…leave this world a little better than you found it. All cases come to an end, and when they do, Bill believes it is possible for a client to be satisfied with not just the case result, but their overall life result.
